I loved the atmosphere, the basketball program felt like a family and the campus is beautiful.

Name:  Mia Guscoff

Class year:  2026

Major:  Sports and exercise management

Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose Ohio Wesleyan because it felt like home and has a lot to offer.  I loved the atmosphere, the basketball program felt like a family, and the campus is beautiful.

Why did you choose your major?
I chose my major because I am interested in working in the sports management field, while being involved in athletics still.

What is your favorite memory on an Ohio Wesleyan team?
My favorite memory is winning the NCAC tournament last year at DePauw.  We knew we were more than capable of winning the tournament, it just came down to who wanted it more.

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I always stand by the same teammates for the national anthem.

What are your strengths as an athlete (as an individual)?
My strengths as an athlete are being a team player, always having a willingness to win, and being resilient and positive-minded.

What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
Our number one goal this season is to make it to the Sweet 16!

What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
An event or sport I would like to try would be pickleball.  I've always wanted to try it, and it looks fun!

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
If I could have a super power it would be to read people's minds.  I've always wanted to do that since I was little.

What is your favorite place to eat in Delaware, and what is your go-to dish there?
I have a lot, but my favorite place to eat at right now is EVOWOK, my go-to dish is a bowl with a bunch of different things in it!

What is your favorite place that you have traveled to as an OWU student-athlete?
My favorite place so far that we have visited as a team would be St. Louis, Missouri.

What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a student-athlete?
If you are considering becoming a student-athlete, do it, you will meet your best friends and do something you love while being a student.  Look for a program that you would truly love to be a part of, and never give up!

What is your favorite season and why?
My favorite season is summer.  I love the beach and warm weather.
