I want to have a career where I can make a direct impact on the world by helping people...

Name:  Noah Citek

Class year:  2026

Majors:  Neuroscience and pre-medicine

Why did you choose Ohio Wesleyan?
I chose to come to Ohio Wesleyan because I wanted to be able to compete for a national championship on the lacrosse field while being able to really focus on my academic studies.

Why did you choose your major?
I want to have a career where I can make a direct impact on the world by helping people, and my neuroscience major will allow me to help people who suffer from neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and traumatic brain injuries.

Why did you choose to compete in sports at Ohio Wesleyan?
I am a very competitive person by nature and I want to win as many championships as possible while representing the Ohio Wesleyan men's lacrosse team.

Do you have any pre-event rituals or superstitions?
I often meditate, drink a coffee or tea, and listen to my favorite music.

What does it take to be successful at face-offs?
To be a successful face-off specialist it takes mental fortitude, good decision making, and an indomitable work ethic.

What is your number one goal, personal or team, for this season?
To win the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament.

What event/sport other than your own would you like to try?
I would like to try soccer.

Is there a specific coach or teammate who has helped you get where you are?
My high school lacrosse coach, Chris Jewett, helped me get where I am today by always believing in me, mentoring me, and holding me accountable.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Super strength

What is your ideal travel destination?
Italy

If you could visit another time, when would it be and why?
If I could visit another time it would be the 1990s to watch Michael Jordan win all six of his NBA championships live.

What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a student-athlete?
For someone considering becoming a student-athlete, I would warn them that it will not always be easy to balance the demands of college athletics and your classes, but if you do not quit and stay at it you will come out of those difficult moments a better and more well-rounded person.

What is your dream job and why?
My dream job growing up was to be a professional athlete because you get paid to stay in shape, eat good food, and play the sport you love.  Now, my dream job is to become a physician so that I can make a difference in our society by being there for people in their greatest moments of need.
