BEREA, Ohio – The Ohio Wesleyan University wrestling team competed at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on Saturday. The Battling Bishops finished 13th, scoring 18.5 points.
Alvin Osadebe (3-3) was OWU's highest finisher of the day, placing eighth overall in the 197 bracket answers and scoring 6.5 team points. Osadebe was seeded number two, started off strong, winning his first bout 17-4, followed by another win, 9-2. From there, he reached the quarterfinals, where he won period one and tied for period two, but was then taken in period three, after a 6:42. He then came back for another win 14-8, then lost his last two matches.
Magnus Lloyd (2-1) made it to quarterfinals in the 174 bracket before he had to medically forfeit. He scored 4.5 team points and was seeded number six. Lloyd won his first bout 17-0 in 4:05 and his second bout 12-0.
Cris Hernandez (2-2) made it to quarterfinals in the 157 bracket and scored 2.0 team points. He won his first bout 3-2 and his second bout 13-6. Hernandez was overtaken in quarterfinals in 5:00, then lost again in consolation round four.
