NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Ohio Wesleyan University wrestling team competed at the Spartan Mat Classic on Saturday, finishing 14th in the 17-team field with 26.0 points.
Magnus Lloyd (2-2) was OWU's highest finisher of the day placing fourth overall in the 174 bracket and scoring 16.5 points. Lloyd won his first match 17-1, his second match 16-0, and his third match 15-0 all with a tech fall. He advanced to the semifinals, ultimately losing in a decision 5-4 then falling to fourth place after losing the third-place match due to medical forfeit.
Anthony Rocco (2-3) scored 5.0 points in the 133 bracket. Rocco lost his first match due to tech fall but came back and won his second match due to medical forfeit and third match to fall over 4:21. He finished losing in consolation round four due to a major decision 13-3.
Gabe Bulugaris (2-2) scored 2.5 points.
Glen Simley (1-2) scored 2.0 points.
