NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Ohio Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team traveled to play Westminster on Monday night, however the game was unable to be completed due to a snow storm in the area.
The two sides decided to suspend the game with 10:10 left in the third quarter, tied at 5-5. It has not been decided when the game will resume.
The decision came following the game-tying goal from Ohio Wesleyan freshman
Lila Hall, her second of the evening. With the goal, the Bishops had completed a three-goal comeback 20 minutes in the making after falling behind 4-1 in the first quarter. Hall was joined on the OWU scoresheet by
Sam Frary with two goals and
Tiffany Trinh with one.
Despite the excessive snow, the teams stayed in good spirits as an impromptu dance session broke out at midfield while the coaches and officials discussed whether or not to continue the game. It all started with the Battling Bishops inviting the Titans to join a conga line, soon followed by the two sides separating for a dance-off, then ultimately culminating in a both rosters line dancing to "Cupid Shuffle" and "Cotton Eye Joe".
Further updates on a pick-up date will be reflected on the team's
schedule page.
