CLEVELAND, Ohio – On Tuesday morning, the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) announced its Athlete of the Week awards for the past week of competition. Representing Ohio Wesleyan University this week in the men's track & field sprinter division was sophomore
Nate Snead. This is the first award for Snead this season and the second for men's track & field.
Snead nabbed two first place finishes at the OWU Tune-Up over the weekend and even set a new program record. The record came in the 60-meter dash as he blazed a new top time of 6.88, beating out the previous record by 0.03 seconds. Snead also secured the top spot in the 200-meter dash, running a personal-best 22.24 and moving himself up to fourth on the OWU all-time top-10 list.
Snead and the rest of the Red and Black will be back in action at the NCAC Indoor Championship at Wittenberg this weekend.
Snead is the 16th NCAC Athlete of the Week selection for Ohio Wesleyan this academic year.
