Roberts Named North Coast Athletic Conference Field Hockey Player of the Week for Week of Oct. 8
Ohio Wesleyan University senior Alexis Roberts (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 8, it was announced by the NCAC.
Roberts, a forward on the Ohio Wesleyan field hockey team, was named Field Hockey Player of the Week.
Roberts scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift Ohio Wesleyan to a 5-4 win at Wittenberg on Wednesday. She had broken a 3-3 tie with a goal with 10:18 left in regulation time. The overtime game-winner completed a hat trick, Roberts' first of the season. On Saturday, she compiled a goal and an assist as Ohio Wesleyan fought back from a 3-0 deficit in a 4-3 loss to Wooster. Roberts set up a goal that brought the Bishops within 4-2, then tallied a goal on a tip-in that narrowed the margin to 4-3 with 1:24 left in regulation time.
