Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore Colton Bloecher (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 22, it was announced by the NCAC.
Bloecher was named Men's Soccer Player of the Week.
Bloecher, a midfielder, scored the game's only goal as 25th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan defeated Oberlin in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday. Bloecher put the Bishops ahead in the second minute of the second half, scoring on the offensive rebound of his own shot. He then had a hand in all 3 Ohio Wesleyan goals as the Bishops posted a key 3-0 win over 20th-ranked Allegheny on Saturday. Bloecher scored on a rebound in the 49th minute, took a through ball and hit a shot from point-blank range in the 53rd minute, and set up an insurance goal in the 71st minute. The win moved Ohio Wesleyan into a tie with Allegheny atop the NCAC standings, each with a record of 5-1-1 going into the final week of conference play.
