Ohio Wesleyan University junior Richie Karban (Elyria) has been named a North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the week of April 1, it was announced by the NCAC.
Karban, a member of the Ohio Wesleyan men's tennis team, was named Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Karban, playing at No. 3 singles, recorded a crucial come-from-behind win to help Ohio Wesleyan defeat Cedarville, 5-4, on Monday. Karban lost the first set, 7-6 (7-2), but came back to take the second and third sets by identical 6-2 margins. Against Wooster on Wednesday, Karban was a double winner in a 5-4 Ohio Wesleyan triumph. He recorded a 6-0, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles, and helped the Bishop No. 1 doubles team to an 8-5 win.
