Ohio Wesleyan Athletics Hall of Fame
Barry Poulson '59 was an outstanding freestyler and diver on the OWU swimming team. By the end of his first season at OWU, he had won the 50-yard freestyle 8 times, including a record-setting swim at the Ohio Athletic Conference meet. He also won the 100-yard freestyle 6 times, won the OAC diving crown, and demolished 11 records. Poulson continued to shine his senior year, setting 7 more records that season, then placing first in the 100-yard free, second in the 200-yard free, second in diving, and anchored the 200 and 400 relay teams to victories at the OAC championship meet. Davis went on to compete at the NCAA All-College swimming meet, finishing 13th in the 50-yard freestyle and 14th in the 100-yard freestyle.
