Phil Kirk '79 was a 3-year starter at first base who set OWU career records for home runs, runs batted in, total bases, and slugging percentage.  He was a second-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection as a senior after slugging a school-record 6 home runs and collecting a school-record 53 total bases. As a junior, he was an honorable mention All-OAC pick after ranking seventh in the league in batting (.392).  His sophomore year, he set a school record with 22 RBI, and tied the school record with 4 triples.
