Ervin Carlisle '31 was the Battling Bishop quarterback from 1928 to 1930 and an infielder on the baseball team.  One of the greatest field generals ever to play for Ohio Wesleyan, he was an all-league selection in 1930 and had the distinction of connecting on the first TD pass thrown in Selby Stadium.
