Ryan Burton ’94 was an all-region selection in both soccer and baseball.  A defender on excellent Bishop soccer teams, he moved into starting lineup on Sept. 18 of his freshman year and was a fixture from that point on, helping the Bishops advance to the national championship game.  As a sophomore, he started all 24 games as Ohio Wesleyan won the North Coast Athletic Conference championship and advanced to the national semifinals.  He was a first-team All-NCAC and third-team all-region pick as a junior as the Bishops won the NCAC title and advanced to the national championship game, and was a first-team all-region and All-NCAC pick as a senior.  During his 4 years on the pitch, the Bishops compiled a record of 60-12-2, including a mark of 28-3-1 in NCAC play.  As a baseball pitcher, he was a 2-time All-NCAC and an all-region selection.  His freshman year he went 4-1, then he was a special mention All-NCAC pick after compiling a 3-2 record as a sophomore.  His junior year, he went 8-2 with a 2.45 ERA on the way to first-team All-NCAC and second-team all-region honors.  He was having another spectacular season his senior year, compiling a 4-0 record and a 1.96 ERA before suffering an injury which effectively ended his season.  During his career, he compiled a 19-5 record with a 3.81 ERA.  His 19 wins tied for fourth place on the OWU all-time list, while his ratio of 1.91 walks/9 innings pitched established an OWU career record.
